Separation of solid particles from borehole fluid is performed by swirling and sharp change of direction of incoming flow (centrifugal separation), with sedimentation of cuttings under the action of gravitation into the collector.
To organize the supply, a collar-disconnector is installed.
When the collector is full, the discharge valve is automatically triggered and the sludge is poured into the sump.
If the accumulator is clogged, a by-pass valve is triggered to prevent the motor from overheating and to provide liquid supply to the pump inlet.
Separator is mounted in e/c 178,146, 140, 127; 114 and 96 (under construction).
Corrosion resistant design is available.
